Located on University grounds the secondary school facility is designed to create a stimulating Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) centre that provides visionary facilities; formal and informal spaces; support areas; and social areas to enhance the emerging industries of Ballarat, including; Advanced Manufacturing, Food & Fibre, Renewable Energies, Information Technology and Health.
The design transformed a redundant out-of-date brick building into a dynamic and appealing centre of interest. The building and spaces are not like a regular school but designed to be deliberately different, dynamic and creative to demonstrate that this is a unique centre to stimulate their learning about the local emerging industries.
