Services Coordination

Are electricians expected to complete all final electrical connections on site?

Yes. All final electrical connections are to be completed on site by a licensed electrician. Factory works include pre-installation and rough-in only. Final terminations, testing, and compliance certification remain a site responsibility.

Product Information

Are Codemark or technical certificates required for substituted products?

Yes. Any substituted product must be supported by appropriate compliance documentation, which may include:

  • CodeMark certificates, or
  • Certificates of accreditation, or
  • Manufacturer technical statements demonstrating NCC compliance.

Where overseas testing is relied upon, certification must be from a NATA-equivalent accredited body. Substitutions without equivalent certification are not acceptable.

Are MDF connecting pieces supplied in the container, or builder-supplied?

Yes. MDF wall and ceiling connecting panels are factory-produced. Quantities and layouts are calculated as part of the factory scope and are supplied within the container, not builder-supplied.

Panels, Lifting & Installation Sequencing

Are all FC sheets pre-cut in the factory, or is site cutting expected?

FC sheets are cut in the factory based on calculated cutting patterns to suit the standard layouts.
The factory also supplies additional pieces and spares to allow for site tolerance and adjustments.
Builders may cut small pieces on site using offcuts where required, but primary optimisation occurs at factory level.

Are the FC sheet dimensions confirmed as 960 mm for all corner conditions?

960 mm is a standard FC panel size used extensively in the factory cutting patterns.
However, documentation also identifies additional panel sizes (e.g. 2150 mm, 2530 mm).

This reflects a balance between:

  • Reducing the number of panel sizes, and
  • Allowing limited site trimming where required

As a result, 960 mm is not universal for all corner conditions, and some variation is expected.

What happens if factory-cut FC sheets do not suit site conditions?

Where factory-cut FC sheets do not perfectly suit site conditions:

  • Builders generally prefer slightly oversized panels supplied with tolerance
  • Minor adjustments may be made on site using supplied offcuts
  • Over-optimisation to eliminate all waste is discouraged, as it typically leads to site inefficiencies and delays.

Structural Connections & Interfaces

Are all cyclone straps supplied with the unit, or do builders need to source extras?

All required cyclone straps are supplied with the unit.
Builders are not required to source additional straps unless specifically instructed by the structural engineer.

How many cyclone straps are provided per unit, and where are they located?

Each unit is supplied with 61 cyclone straps.
Straps are installed at highlighted nodes shown on the structural drawings, forming part of the engineered load path.

Are cyclone straps installed in the factory or fixed on site?

Cyclone straps are installed in the factory, not on site.
No additional site installation is required unless directed by an engineer.

Can a deck be fixed directly to the Lodge floor beams

Decks must not be fixed directly to the Lodge floor beams unless specifically engineered and documented.
The typical compliant approach is:

  • Independent footings
  • Independent bearers
  • Structural separation from the Lodge

This avoids unintended load transfer and maintains structural compliance.

How is cyclonic uplift resistance achieved?

Cyclonic uplift resistance is achieved through:

  • 61 cyclone straps per unit,
  • Straps pre-installed in the factory, and
  • A continuous load path from roof structure through walls and down to the footings

Removal, relocation, or modification of straps is not permitted without engineering approval, as this compromises the certified load path.
